Jahannam (Hell)
6/6/2017, 11 Ramadhan 1438H
How to be save from jahannam?
The Paradise is surrounded by hardships and the Hell-Fire is surrounded by temptations. (Sahih Muslim 2822)
Allah mentioned about Jahannam (hell) in Quran, less than the Jannah (Heaven/Paradise). It means that Allah want us to be Jannah rather than Jahannam. That is why Allah remind and tell us ways to go to Jannah and also Jahannam. It is our own choice.
How hellfire looks like, during party in Taiwan 2015.
(A video by christian)
Jahannam is not for eternal torture only, but for temporary purification too. After the sins has been wash, the muslims will enter jannah, but the disbelievers will remain in hell eternally. However the hellfire is not a good place to be. Imagine the fire on earth, but the hellfire is more worse. The way to jahannam is the opposite way to jannah. I do not want to be in hellfire eternally. May Allah forgive our sins, and put us into the jannah in hereafter. Ameen..
A young Jewish boy who was in the service of the Prophet (ﷺ) fell ill. The Prophet (ﷺ) went to visit him. He sat down by his head and said to him, "Embrace Islam." The little boy looked at his father who was sitting beside him. He said: "Obey Abul-Qasim (i.e., the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ))." So he embraced Islam and the Prophet (ﷺ) stepped out saying, "Praise be to Allah Who has saved him from Hell-fire." ( Riyad as-Salihin: Book 7, Hadith 7)
The muslims who believe in existence of Judgement Day and Resurrection Day, will make full use of the earthly life for sincere repentance, do good to ourselves & others, do righteous deeds and refrain from bad things that mentioned by Allah S.W.T in the Quran and taught by our beloved Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) in Hadith.
Surat Al-'Anfāl (The Spoils of War), Chapter 8, Verse 38:
"Say to those who have disbelieved [that] if they cease, what has previously occurred will be forgiven for them. But if they return [to hostility] - then the precedent of the former [rebellious] peoples has already taken place." (Quran 8:38)
"The Messenger of Allah [SAW] said: 'If a person accepts Islam, such that his Islam is good, Allah will decree reward for every good deed that he did before, and every bad deed that he did before will be erased. Then after that will come the reckoning; each good deed will be rewarded ten times up to seven hundred times. And each bad deed will be recorded as it is, unless Allah, the Mighty and Sublime, forgives it." (Sunan an-Nasa'i 4998)
"Are you not aware of the fact that Islam wipes out all the previous (misdeeds)? Verily migration wipes out all the previous (misdeeds), and verily the pilgrimage wipes out all the (previous) misdeeds." (Sahih Muslim, 121)
As for the non muslim who embrace Islam, all their sins will be forgiven by Allah s.w.t., but his good deeds will remain. However, like other muslims, the new muslim also need to struggle to get a place in paradise and abstain from bad things that will take you to jahannam. Those who die by worshipping other than Allah s.w.t. (shirk) and deny Allah s.w.t.'s existence, will enter hell eternally.
He Is successful who has accepted Islam, who has been provided with sufficient for his want and been made contented by Allah with what He has given him. (Sahih Muslim 1054)
YOLO: You Only Lives Once
Make sure we do good and righteous deeds before we return to our Creator, Allah S.W.T.
Surat Al-Munāfiqūn (The Hypocrites), Chapter 63, Verse 10:
"And spend [in the way of Allah ] from what We have provided you before death approaches one of you and he says, "My Lord, if only You would delay me for a brief term so I would give charity and be among the righteous." (Quran 63:10)
Surat Yūnus (Jonah), Chapter 10, Verse 90-91:
"And We took the Children of Israel across the sea, and Pharaoh and his soldiers pursued them in tyranny and enmity until, when drowning overtook him, he said, "I believe that there is no deity except that in whom the Children of Israel believe, and I am of the Muslims."
Now? And you had disobeyed [Him] before and were of the corrupters?" (Quran 10:90-91)
Surat As-Sajdah (The Prostration), Chapter 32, Verse 12:
"If you could but see when the criminals are hanging their heads before their Lord, [saying], "Our Lord, we have seen and heard, so return us [to the world]; we will work righteousness. Indeed, we are [now] certain." (Quran 32:12)
"And he whom Allah sends astray - for him there is no protector beyond Him. And you will see the wrongdoers, when they see the punishment, saying, "Is there for return [to the former world] any way?" (Quran 42:44)
Surat 'Ibrāhīm (Abrahim), Chapter 14, Verse 44:
"And, [O Muhammad], warn the people of a Day when the punishment will come to them and those who did wrong will say, "Our Lord, delay us for a short term; we will answer Your call and follow the messengers." [But it will be said], "Had you not sworn, before, that for you there would be no cessation?" (Quran 14:44)
"Do they await except its result? The Day its result comes those who had ignored it before will say, "The messengers of our Lord had come with the truth, so are there [now] any intercessors to intercede for us or could we be sent back to do other than we used to do?" They will have lost themselves, and lost from them is what they used to invent."
(Quran 7:53)
"And they will say: "Had we but listened or used our intelligence, we would not have been among the dwellers of the blazing Fire!" (Quran 67:10)
Surat Qāf (The Letter "Qaf"), Chapter 50, Verse 22:
"(It will be said to the sinners): "Indeed you were heedless of this, now We have removed your covering, and sharp is your sight this Day!" (Quran 50:22)
Surat Al-'An`ām (The Cattle), Chapter 6, Verse 28:
"But what they concealed before has [now] appeared to them. And even if they were returned, they would return to that which they were forbidden; and indeed, they are liars." (Quran 6:28)
"And they will cry out therein, "Our Lord, remove us; we will do righteousness - other than what we were doing!" But did We not grant you life enough for whoever would remember therein to remember, and the warner had come to you? So taste [the punishment], for there is not for the wrongdoers any helper." (Quran 35:37)
"So taste [punishment] because you forgot the meeting of this, your Day; indeed, We have [accordingly] forgotten you. And taste the punishment of eternity for what you used to do." (Quran 32:14)
Who will enter jahannam?
- Disbelievers
The mankind that worship other than Allah s.w.t. (shirk), and those who deny the existence of one true God, Allah s.w.t.
"And it has already come down to you in the Book that when you hear the verses of Allah [recited], they are denied [by them] and ridiculed; so do not sit with them until they enter into another conversation. Indeed, you would then be like them. Indeed Allah will gather the hypocrites and disbelievers in Hell all together -" (Quran 4:140)
"And We have certainly created for Hell many of the jinn and mankind. They have hearts with which they do not understand, they have eyes with which they do not see, and they have ears with which they do not hear. Those are like livestock; rather, they are more astray. It is they who are the heedless." (Quran 7:179)
Surat Hūd (Hud), Chapter 11, Verse 119:
"Except whom your Lord has given mercy, and for that He created them. But the word of your Lord is to be fulfilled that, "I will surely fill Hell with jinn and men all together." (Quran 11:119)
"And if we had willed, We could have given every soul its guidance, but the word from Me will come into effect [that] "I will surely fill Hell with jinn and people all together." (Quran 32:13)
- The arrogant and the followers & those who follow the Satan.
"And they will come out [for judgement] before Allah all together, and the weak will say to those who were arrogant, "Indeed, we were your followers, so can you avail us anything against the punishment of Allah ?" They will say, "If Allah had guided us, we would have guided you. It is all the same for us whether we show intolerance or are patient: there is for us no place of escape."
And Satan will say when the matter has been concluded, "Indeed, Allah had promised you the promise of truth. And I promised you, but I betrayed you. But I had no authority over you except that I invited you, and you responded to me. So do not blame me; but blame yourselves. I cannot be called to your aid, nor can you be called to my aid. Indeed, I deny your association of me [with Allah ] before. Indeed, for the wrongdoers is a painful punishment." (Quran 14:21-22)
"Indeed Allah will gather the hypocrites and disbelievers in Hell all together -"
(Quran 4:140)
Surat At-Tawbah (The Repentance), Chapter 9, Verse 67-69:
"The hypocrite men and hypocrite women are of one another. They enjoin what is wrong and forbid what is right and close their hands. They have forgotten Allah , so He has forgotten them [accordingly]. Indeed, the hypocrites - it is they who are the defiantly disobedient.
Allah has promised the hypocrite men and hypocrite women and the disbelievers the fire of Hell, wherein they will abide eternally. It is sufficient for them. And Allah has cursed them, and for them is an enduring punishment.
[You disbelievers are] like those before you; they were stronger than you in power and more abundant in wealth and children. They enjoyed their portion [of worldly enjoyment], and you have enjoyed your portion as those before you enjoyed their portion, and you have engaged [in vanities] like that in which they engaged. [It is] those whose deeds have become worthless in this world and in the Hereafter, and it is they who are the losers." (Quran 9:67-69)

[It is] those whose deeds have become worthless in this world and in the Hereafter, and it is they who are the losers." (Quran 9:67-69)
- Those who kill the innocent believers intentionally
"But whoever kills a believer intentionally - his recompense is Hell, wherein he will abide eternally, and Allah has become angry with him and has cursed him and has prepared for him a great punishment." (Quran 4:93)
- Those who change the authentic Scriptures (Torah, Psalm, Gospel, Quran) to misguide people.
"So woe to those who write the "scripture" with their own hands, then say, "This is from Allah ," in order to exchange it for a small price. Woe to them for what their hands have written and woe to them for what they earn." (Quran 2:79)
- The believers (mankind and jinn) who committed sin intentionally (without repentance) like drinking alcohol, eating haram food (pork, etc), LGBT, free sex.
"Yes, whoever earns evil and his sin has encompassed him - those are the companions of the Fire" (Quran 2:81)
- Jinn (Genie)
The disbeliever jinn.
"And We have certainly created for Hell many of the jinn and mankind. (Quran 7:179)
Surat Hūd (Hud), Chapter 11, Verse 119:
"I will surely fill Hell with jinn and men all together." (Quran 11:119)
"I will surely fill Hell with jinn and people all together." (Quran 32:13)
- Suicidal
The Prophet (ﷺ) looked at a man fighting against the pagans and he was one of the most competent persons fighting on behalf of the Muslims. The Prophet (ﷺ) said, "Let him who wants to look at a man from the dwellers of the (Hell) Fire, look at this (man)." Another man followed him and kept on following him till he (the fighter) was injured and, seeking to die quickly, he placed the blade tip of his sword between his breasts and leaned over it till it passed through his shoulders (i.e., committed suicide)." The Prophet (ﷺ) added, "A person may do deeds that seem to the people as the deeds of the people of Paradise while in fact, he is from the dwellers of the (Hell) Fire: and similarly a person may do deeds that seem to the people as the deeds of the people of the (Hell) Fire while in fact, he is from the dwellers of Paradise. Verily, the (results of) deeds done, depend upon the last actions." (Sahih Bukhari)
How to be save from jahannam?
Use this short and temporary earthly life (dunya) to do righteous deeds, mentioned by Allah S.W.T. in the Quran and Hadith.
Ask sincere forgiveness and make sincere repentance from Allah S.W.T. because Allah S.W.T. is the Creator. We belong to Allah S.W.T., our Eternal Refuge.
Surat Al-Baqarah (The Cow), Chapter 2, Verse 255:
"Allah - there is no deity except Him, the Ever-Living, the Sustainer of [all] existence. Neither drowsiness overtakes Him nor sleep. To Him belongs whatever is in the heavens and whatever is on the earth. Who is it that can intercede with Him except by His permission? He knows what is [presently] before them and what will be after them, and they encompass not a thing of His knowledge except for what He wills. His Kursi extends over the heavens and the earth, and their preservation tires Him not. And He is the Most High, the Most Great." (Quran 2:255)
"Allah , the Eternal Refuge." (Quran 112:2)
“Seek refuge with Allah from the punishment of Hell, and seek refuge in Allah from the punishment of the grave. Seek refuge in Allah from the trial of Al-Masihid-Dajjal, and seek refuge in Allah from the trials of life and death.” (Jami` at-Tirmidhi 3604)
