24th May 2018, 8th Ramadhan 1439H Breastfeeding According to Quran, a mother may breastfeed their baby up to 24 months. This is confirmed by World Health Organization (WHO) that exclusive breastfeeding is recommended up to 6 months of age, with continued breastfeeding along with appropriate complementary foods up to two years of age or beyond. Surat Al-Baqarah  (The Cow), Chapter 2, Verse 233 : " Mothers may breastfeed their children two complete years for whoever wishes to complete the nursing [period]. Upon the father is the mothers' provision and their clothing according to what is acceptable. No person is charged with more than his capacity. No mother should be harmed through her child, and no father through his child. And upon the [father's] heir is [a duty] like that [of the father]. Don't forget that Allah, in the Quran, reminds us to protect ourselves from the evil eye and the harm of envious people. It was narrated from Abu Hurairah that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said : ‘The evil eye is real.” ( Sunan Ibn Majah: 3507 ) Yahya related to me from Malik from Yahya ibn Said from Sulayman ibn Yasar that Urwa ibn az-Zubayr told him that the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, entered the house of Umm Salama, the wife of the Prophet, may Allah bless him and grant him peace. There was a child weeping in the house, and they told him that it was from the evil eye. Urwa said, "The Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, said, 'Why do you not find someone to make an incantation to protect it from the evil eye?'
